See Spectral Evolution’s Spectroradiometers for Radiometric Calibration Transfer and Classification of Pulsed Solar Simulators
Lawrence, MA – January 6, 2016 – At the Space Tech Expo/Aerospace Electrical Systems Expo 2016, SPECTRAL EVOLUTION (Booth #3025) will be demonstrating our SR-4500 and SR-1901PT portable spectroradiometer products.
As satellite sensors improve in precision and accuracy, the need for rigorous pre-launch radiometric calibration becomes increasingly important. A series of detailed calibrations are used to fully characterize the satellite sensors’ wavelength scale, spectral response functions, pointing sensitivity, radiometric accuracy and other key parameters.
Integrating spheres show very uniform radiance distribution and are used in a range of applications for the testing and calibration of imaging and non-imaging systems such as focal plane arrays and cameras. Often the integrating spheres need calibration. Typically, shipment back to a vendor’s lab is rarely practical and scientists require a way to calibrate at their location.
An ideal transfer standard, according to NIST, would have uniform and smooth power distribution with high correlated color temperature across the intended spectral range, low aging rate, uniform spatial intensity distribution, and good reproducibility. To meet the needs of integrating sphere owners who have system lamps with high operating hours, light sources more than two years old, a mandate for annual calibration, or systems too large to send out for calibration, the SR-4500 from SPECTRAL EVOLUTION can be used for on-site calibration.
The SR-4500 spectroradiometer delivers stable temperature control across a range of ambient temperatures and environments. Using all thermoelectrically cooled photodiode arrays, the SR-4500 is built specifically for the performance demands of radiometric calibration transfer. With the SR-4500, you can take the calibration process where it’s needed.
The SR-4500 was built to meet the exacting needs of customers for measurement stability. The SR-4500 features:
- Spectral range of 350-2500nm
- 512 element TE cooled silicon photodiode array (350-1000nm)
- 256 element TE cooled extended In GaAs array (1000-1900nm)
- 256 element TE cooled extended In GaAs array (1900-2500nm)
In addition to stability, the SR-4500 also provides improved Noise Equivalence Radiance capabilities for very high sensitivity:
Noise Equivalence Radiance (with 1.2 meter fiber optic)
0.2×10-9 W/cm2/nm/sr @ 400nm
0.2×10-9 W/cm2/nm/sr @ 700-nm
0.9×10-9 W/cm2/nm/sr @ 900-nm
The SR-1901PT
The SR-1901PT spectroradiometer is designed for testing and classifying pulsed solar simulators. Ensuring the uniform quality of solar cells, modules and panels is critical as part of quality control best practices. Solar simulators are used to simulate sunlight in testing the reliability and performance of solar cells and panels.
The SR-1901PT is compact, portable, and easy to set up and use. The SR-1901PT has a spectral range of 280-1900nm. Other features include:
▪ Detectors: One 512 element UV-enhanced silicon photodiode array and one 256 element TE-cooled extended InGaAs photodiode array
▪ 1-50 msec integration time
▪ Bluetooth I/O connection
▪ External TTL port and phototrigger with SMA-905 port
▪ 0-100 millisecond trigger delay increment
▪ External TTL≤5µsec trigger jitter
▪ Photodetector jitter – ≤100nsec
▪ Spectral match for AM0, AM1.5 and AM1.5 global tilt
▪ DARWin™ SP-PT Data Acquisition software includes added features such as spectral match reports, auto-integration and auto-ranging, and automatically saves data as ASCII files for use with 3rd party software
The unit includes NIST traceable irradiance calibration, 1.2 meter dual fiber optic with custom diffuser and built-in phototrigger, 100-240 volt/50-60hz power supply, and a dustproof, waterproof foam-lined case for shipment and storage. Our easy to use DARWin SP Data Acquisition software is included with each SR-1901PT.
